Halloween 3: Season of the Witch (plant based)

from $30.00

Colorway Description:

This colorway is a rustic, variegated blend of dirty skull white, ancient witch green, and ripe pumpkin— An earthy ode to the simple yet sinister role of those Halloween masks. 🎃💀🧙‍♀️

—————————————

This 1982 Halloween franchise film traces the steps of an emergency room doctor and the daughter of a recent murder victim as they venture out to investigate the slaying. They soon learn about a small town Halloween mask maker’s sinister plot to commit mass murder. Most terrifyingly, they learn that the conspiracy involves a catchy Halloween tune that’s incessantly played on television commercials, and is slowly entrancing children to wear these three creepy (yet vintage cute), murderous masks on Halloween night.

All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique, even in the same dye lot. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed.

I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly.

Swatch is knit with Aster Sock/Fingering (held double)

Turnaround time is 3-6 weeks after preorder ends

A little extra info about these new plant based yarns:

𝙰𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚂𝚘𝚌𝚔/𝙵𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐: named after a famous director (𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒊𝒎!) and the delightfully purple and gold, late summer flower.

A dry-wearing, breathable, and versatile base that’s a dream to wear for warm weather and light layering. Both bamboo and linen wick moisture away from the body, while staying dry to the touch, dry out quickly, and can be breezy or lightly insulating, depending on the form and density they’re knit into. This blend makes an excellent alternative when the weather warms up enough that your other knits get a bit too warm and stuffy (gotta love extending knits season!). The 70% bamboo provides a natural silky softness, while the 30% linen adds a touch of toothy texture that softens over time with wear and washing. Linen’s natural strength also adds durability and resilience to this blend. The combo of fibers also makes for a unique semi-matte sheen that looks somewhere between fancy and folky. With this delightfully functional base, every season is nice for knits.

𝙳𝚊𝚒𝚜𝚢 𝙳𝙺 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙰𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚊 𝚂𝚘𝚌𝚔: continuing on the 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 trend with these two 100% cottons skeins! Named after each of these flowers’ natural, charming beauty, and their bright white bases that actually quite resemble the bare cotton yarn.

Both of these 100% Pima cotton bases are beautifully draping and luxuriously easygoing. An elevated take on that familiar cotton look and feel, while also providing a more thermally neutral alternative to the warmth of wool. Pima cotton is a high quality variety of cotton that’s softer, stronger, and more pill resistant than basic cotton varieties. These qualities largely stem from the longer staples (individual fibers) of Pima cotton, which also help make it more breathable, as the smoother less fuzzy yarn lets air and heat pass through more easily— a nice complement to cotton’s naturally off-body drape. Both of these bases are excellent for any project that calls for all-around versatility of wear and a timelessly classic look and feel.
