A brown bear is quite an odd sight to see in the calm, picturesque, Swedish countryside, yet one appears in Midsommar. When one of the American visitors quizzically asks what a bear is doing caged up in the middle of the meadowy field, one of the Härga simply, yet ominously replies, “it’s a bear,” as if her question has a simple, obvious answer.

That bear brings a history of Norse and Scandinavian symbolism to the Midsommar ethos. Without giving too much away, suffice it to say that director Ari Aster makes provocative use of this massive, powerful creature, which is why I wanted to capture some of its rich honeyed browns and hues of chestnut in this colorway.

All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique, even in the same dye lot. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed. Even though many of these bases are superwash merino wool, I still recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your yarn/garments!

I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly.

Turnaround time is 3-6ish weeks after preorder ends

Please note that the fluffy yarn pictured in the photo here is a 100% alpaca yarn that I previously offered. My Sarah Suri Silk base is the most similar to this pictured yarn!
