All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique, even in the same dye lot. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed. Even though many of these bases are superwash merino wool, I still recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your yarn/garments!

I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly.

Turnaround time is 3-5ish weeks after preorder ends

Colorway synopsis:
As you can see, Dario Argento’s 1977 “Suspiria” is full to the brim with the use of bright, vibrant colors, especially the primary colors of red, yellow, and blue, as well as some secondary colors, like green and violet. The use of these well-known colors was intentional, as not a lot of films were doing anything like this at the time - a horror movie using the colors of the rainbow? To quote cinematographer Luciano Tovoli: “To immediately make Suspiria a total abstraction from what we call ‘everyday reality,’ I used the usually reassuring primary colors only in their purest essence, making them immediately, surprisingly violent and provocative. This brings the audience into the world of Suspiria.” Argento, along with Tovoli, were inspired by the Technicolor film process (a motion-picture process that used dye-transfer techniques to make colored film), as seen in films like Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1939). Argento and Tovoli wanted to create a horror movie with rich colors and super dark, contrasting blacks.

~ Funny enough, actress Jessica Harper, who plays Susie, looks quite like Snow White herself! ~

In 1978, the year after “Suspiria” was released, Technicolor Rome, the company that helped colorize and process the film, shut down, making “Suspiria” one of the last films ever to be made with Technicolor film. This colorway is an ode to this very vintage way of colorizing pictures. The Technicolor process was a huge part of how “Suspiria” was made. Not to forget all the shockingly beautiful blueish-violet colors seen throughout the film, primarily in momentous scenes of anticipation and revelation.
